She was a retired Kentucky funeral director and a member of the Eastern Star of Albany, KY. She was preceded in death by parents and nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Dyer is survived by four children; Debbie Beaty and husband Jimmy of Wartburg,Ira B. and wife Sherry Dyer of Elizabethtown, KY, Donna Bullock and husband Walt of St. Petersburgh, FL; Ike Dyer and Tammy Price of Celina, TN. Nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, June 20, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Young officiating. Interment will be in the Wartburg City Cemetery. STRAND, DARRELL MARTIN, age 74 of Deer Lodge passed away at his home Thursday, June 16, 201. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the Morgan County Correctional Facility. He also opened and operated the Pack&Snack in Deer Lodge for 18 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; Torvel and Alma Strand, brothers; Menford(Bud) and Chester Strand, sisters; Loretta Hawkins and Zola Satterfield. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Mona Adkins Strand, Son and daughter-in-law; Marty and Emily Strand of Deer Lodge, Two wonderful grandchildren; Ruth Erin and Darrell Martin 3rd whom he loved dearly. Obituary for Henry "Gene" Massengale Henry Eugene "Gene" Massengale, age 73, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Integra Specialty Hospital in Muncie while surrounded by his family. He was born August 8, 1937 in Robbins, Tennessee to the late Virgil and Emma Lee (Cecil) Massengale. He retired from Chrysler Corporation and had also worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma. An avid NASCAR fan, Henry was also a fan of his son John, who races at Mt. Lawn Speedway. A member of the UAW Local #371, he was also a member of the American Legion for 24 years, the Moose Lodge, and was a member of the Rose City CB Club and REACT where was known as "Pink Panther" or "Pinkin". He served in the United States Air Force, National Guard, Army and the Reserves. He attended Ivy Tech in Muncie where he studied electronics. Survivors include his wife, Emma L. Massengale whom he married May 18, 1968; children, Amy (husband, Gary) Davis, John (wife, Karol) Massengale and Tina (husband, Alex) Pierce; six grandchildren, Lyndsay and Megan Davis, Tyler Pierce, James, Kristopher, Jonathan Massengale all of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; sister, Carol Sweigart of New Castle; brother, Tommy Massengale of New Castle; cousins; a special pet cockatiel, Misty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Jo and Jimmy Ray Massengale; two granddaughters, T.J. Marie and Alyssa Nicole Shoemaker.
