Hi Gerri I have been told that Ruby McCartt is supposedly buried next to Lewis or at least near him. As for a marriage for Robert Webb, haven't found one yet. By the mother being listed as Daughtery, I am assuming there was no marriage. That's what I am wondering....is this Jane really Parthenia's mother? Parthenia could be Ruby Parthenia, or Parthenia Ruby. Just never have found much about her. Some of these papers, actually the application of a pension, state that Parthenia's mother was" a livid woman, roaming from place to place and having more children" or something similar to that. I assume Lewis and Ruby McCartt took her so they could collect the pension of Robert Webb, which they did get. Now, who is this Jane ?? I really kick my self now....years ago, when I was first married, I was shown a picture of Parthenia and her husband, James Monroe Cromwell. Back then, I thought, O, a real old couple. I didn't have the least bit of interest in genealogy back then. Since then the house the picture hung in has burned and with it the picture. And the folks who lived in the house, her son and his wife, are gone also. Don't know who this Ruby Webb McCoy is right off. Probably got something on her in my books. Guess I will have to 'dig in' after the holidays and get to searching again.. Been hectic here lately... Glad to hear you are enjoying the book. I intended to do another from 1940 on, but since I am not working in Wartburg now, it's harder for me to get to the library.. Maybe after the first of the year I can think about it again... Thanks for your thoughts on this. Julie Dewey Leach wrote: >Julie, > > I noticed that the census record you have gives Susan and Jane as being >born in Ky. They must have been sisters. Someone sent me some informaton a few years ago and I kind of just put it away and when I was digging through my webb stuff I came across this again and thought it might be of interest. John Webb II christened 20 April 1694 St. Peter's Parish, Virginia died 1736. Will made 27 April 1736 Henrico co. Virginia, proved July 1736. He married a woman named Hannah. Her surname was possibly Carter, the daughter of Theoderick Carter ( 1669-1737) Henrico Co. Va. Children of John Webb and Hannah include: 1. John born circa 1715 Amherst co. Va. He married a woman named Ursula Carter. 2. James b. circa 1717. He married a woman named Nancy and to Mrs. Ann Hoggatt Dabbs. 3. Giles born circa 1720 4. Theoderick b. 1723 died circa 1793 Franklin co. Va. Will proved Feb. 1794. He married first 1747 to Mrs. Mary Webb, Widow of Wentworth Webb. He married next circa 1755 to Mrs. Elizabeth Fitzgerald. 5. Henry born. 1722-27. He married to a woman named Elizabeth and is believed to have gone to Prince William co. Va. 6. Jacob b. 1730. He died circa after 1788 Franklin Co. Va. He married to Mary/Mollie Austin, Possibly the daughter of John Austin of New Kent, St.Peter's Parish whose daughter Mary was born 4 Nov. 1723. 7. Cuthbert b. 1733. He made his will 11 jun 1771 and died in 1778 Albemarle co. Va. He married probably in Henrico co. Va to Mary Burton(?) Thought this at least if anything would be food for thought. --- On Tue 12/16, Linda Hallman < dixierose@alltel.net > wrote: From: Linda Hallman [mailto: dixierose@alltel.net] To: TNMORGAN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Tue, 16 Dec 2003 20:58:23 -0500 Subject: [TNMORGAN] John Webb and Charity Hello to All,

While looking for documents to mail to yall, I ran across the
Revolutionary War Pension Files for John Webb, son of John Webb and
Ursley. Julie, I noticed that the census record you have gives Susan and Jane as being born in Ky. They must have been sisters. If Robert died during the war, then what happened to her mother? In the 1850 census Martin Garrett is listed as child of John and elizabeth. In the 1870 census, John and Elizabeth have four Webbs listed in the household. There definitely has to be a connection. Do you have a record of Robert's marriage? Could Jane be her mother? Why the last name of Daughtery and not Webb? The Daughtery name doesn't show up very often. This is very interesting. I have a question for you. Is Ruby buried in Elizabeth Cemetery. I have Lewis buried there but haven't been able to find her. Also buried at Elizabeth is a Ruby Webb McCoy born 1855 and Lewis and Ruby's daughter Hannah McCoy. Do you know who this Ruby is? Sorry if I've made it worse. Sometimes answering these questions will point you in the right direction. I'm still enjoying my book. You did a great job on it. Don't you wish we had information like this for the years you are searching in right now. Julie, were the custody papers also in the court house or did you only find them in the pension file? I am wondering if it will do me any good to come down there again and go through court records to try and find Mary Etta Webb/Garrett. Hi Bev Oakdale was the 10th dist. and Petros the 2nd. Also, Pine Orchard and Crab Orchard communities were 3rd dist. Both considered part of Oakdale. 10th dist, was actually the 'city' part of Oakdale. Hope this helps! Enjoy the Holidays!
