AULT, JOHN FRANKLIN - 90, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Carolina House of Wake Forest. Mr. Ault was born September 22, 1916, in Williamsport, PA. He graduated from South Williamsport Junior - Senior High School in Williamsport, PA. Mr. Ault attended Penn State University before enlisting in the US Army Air Corps in 1942. He served during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations as a Navigation Officer Fifth Air Force 380th, Bomb Group 530th Squadron, achieving a rank of 1st Lieutenant. After the war, he completed his Industrial Engineering Degree at Penn State University. He received a MBA from Harvard Business School in 1954. He held executive positions with Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven CT., and The O. Ames Company, Parkersburg, WV, before accepting a Position as CEO of Wall Tube and Metal Products Company in Newport, TN in 1959. He retired from Wall Tube in 1982. Following his retirement he did small business counseling for 15 years as a volunteer in the Knoxville, TN chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. Mr. Ault is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret; and daughters, Bettina Ault of Memphis, TN, and Johanna and husband Phillip Trotter of Wake Forest. Born February 8, 1925, in McKeesport, PA., she graduated from McKeesport High School and continued her education at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. She worked at J&L Steel Corporation during WW II and as an audio engineer at WMCK radio station in McKeesport, where she met her husband. While a homemaker, she was active in church fundraising and in the Republican Party, serving as a committee woman and president of the Republican Women's Club of Monroeville. She returned to the work force in the office supply business and was most recently a buyer at Arent Office Supply in Murrysville, PA, for 20 years. After a serious illness forced her to retire in September, 2005, she relocated to Knoxville in 2006 to be cared for by her family, who will miss her beyond words. She will be remembered as a person with a strong faith in God and a believer in angels and the power of positive thinking. Her life outlook was an inspiration to her family and her many friends, both old and new. She is survived by: her only child, Patricia McDaniel (fiancé J. Born in 1926 in Cordell, OK; the second of 10 children of GH & Bertha Bergen, Herbert became a Christian in 1937 and at age 17 applied to become a Salvation Army Officer. He entered Training from the Clinton, OK Corps; his Corps officer was Captain Ezra Miles. Herbert and Gladys Ritchie fell in love at the Southern Training College in Atlanta, GA as members of the Fearless Session. They were commissioned as Salvation Army Officers May 28, 1945 and married January 12, 1949. Their appointments together included Sapulpa, OK, Plainview, San Angelo and Lubbock, TX, Divisional Youth Secretary in Virginia and Southwest Virginia and North and South Carolina, Fairmont, WV, Salisbury, MD, Wheeling, WV, City Commander Nashville, TN, City Coordinator Winston-Salem, NC, City Commander Charlotte, NC. Their last appointment was Knoxville, TN from 1982-1991. After retirement, they lived in Sevierville, TN and in 2006 moved to Delmar Gardens in Lawrenceville, GA. On January 12, 2007 they celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary. Herbert had many interests during his 80 years including creating wood signs with a router for several Salvation Army camps, fishing, gardening, bird watching especially blue birds and hummingbirds, outsmarting the squirrels so intent in raiding his garden and birdfeeders, great jokes and pranks, music and reading. Most of all he wanted to lead people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and then nurture their spiritual growth. Herbert enjoyed studying the Bible, and in retirement taught the Sevierville, TN Corps adult Sunday school class. A note in one of his study Bibles reads "If you received a letter from someone you love and loved you very much, how long would you leave it lying around before you opened it? The Bible is God's love letter to you." Throughout 461/2 years as an active Salvation Army officer, along with the Advisory Board members and other supporters of The Salvation Army, he was enabled to reach people in need to provide physical and spiritual help. The Knoxville, TN campaign to raise funds for the Center of Hope was especially dear to his heart. In 2000 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and since 2001 experienced several health struggles. Bible notes illustrate his making peace with limited mobility: "Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, Be strong, do not fear; your God will come." Judge Jarvis was born in Knoxville on Feb. 28, 1937, to Howard F. Jarvis, a highly regarded trial lawyer in his day, and his wife, Eleanor. He had strong ties in Blount County, however, that went back to when his father bought Blackberry Farm and Inn. Judge Jarvis ended up spending his last two years at Maryville High School. Then he attended the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was awarded the Significant Sig Award in 1998. He received a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1960. He went into practice with his father and was in private practice from 1960 to 1972. His father's law partner, Paul Parker, taught him how to fly fish and handle a shotgun, resulting in longtime hobbies of fishing and hunting. He was appointed judge of the Law and Equity Court for Blount County in 1972, serving five years. Then he was elected judge of the 30th Judicial Circuit Court in Blount County, a position he held until 1984, when President Ronald Reagan appointed him U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Judge Jarvis became a second judge in the district, a new position, at a time when U.S. Sen. Howard H. Baker Jr. was Senate majority leader. The district's remaining judges will take over his part-time caseload. The judge was a member of the bar associations at the local and state levels and the Federal Judges Association, and he formerly was on the executive committee of the Tennessee Trial Judges Association and a member of the Tennessee Judicial Conference, of which he was president in 1983-84. He was a member of the American Inn of Court Hamilton Burnett Chapter and the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on Codes of Conduct 1994-2000. Judge Jarvis was instrumental in establishing the Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, Inc. He also was a past member of the Board of Advisers of the UT College of Law and the Great Smoky Mountains Conservation Association. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Maryville College 1986-1991; the board of the Detoxification Rehabilitation Institute of Knoxville; and the board of the Metropolitan Knoxville YMCA. Judge Jarvis leaves his wife, former Knox County General Sessions Court Judge Gail Stone Jarvis; former wives who are the mothers of his five children, Martha Stapleton Jarvis of Tampa, FL and Pam Duncan Miller of Maryville. She and Jack had two children: Jack "C" Bolander (LCDR U.S. Navy, retired) and Donna Bolander (Mrs. Erle P. Halliburton Jr.). She married again after Jack's death to her childhood sweetheart, Raymond D. "Si" Johnston of Mt. Ayr, Iowa. She was active in her youth as a Rainbow Girl and in later years with the Poinsettia Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She helped establish the credit department at Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company in Duncan, Oklahoma, where she worked for over twenty years. She was an active member of numerous houses of worship in her lifetime, the most recent being at West Hills Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by both husbands and son Jack. Mr. Krizmanich was born June 4, 1913, in Pribanci, Croatia and immigrated to the United States in November of 1929. As a young man, he spoke multiple languages. His life work was in the construction trades with 20 years in employment with TVA. As a master boilermaker, he worked on constructing and maintaining boilers at TVA steam plants across the region, to include Kingston, Gallatin, Paradise, John Sevier, Bull Run, and Ocoee Number 2. He was a member of Boilermaker Local 453 Union in Knoxville, and a lifelong AFL-CIO union member, supporter, and organizer. He was very proud of the work he did in the early 1940s to help build the original Oak Ridge facility. Additional locations where Mr. Krizmanich worked as a master tradesman were in Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. He retired from the work he loved in 1975 but continued to attend Boilermaker Lodge reunions for many years. Over the course of his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, golfing, bowling, playing cards, gardening and traveling. He was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite Temple, Knoxville. With his beloved wife, Artie, he was actively engaged in Bethel United Methodist Church on Amherst Road. Prior to that, he was a member at Erin Presbyterian Church when his first wife, Marie, was alive. Mr. Krizmanich spent the last 16 months of his life in Richmond, VA; in an assisted living facility near his daughter, Gloria. In March 2007, he was placed under hospice care. While Alzheimer's weakened his mind, it never weakened his sense of humor or his religious and deeply spiritual awareness. Up to his last day on earth, he trusted in the Lord, saying, "God is good to me. He knows what He is doing." In 1976 he started work at the K-25 Barrier Plant and then moved to the Y-12 Uranium Enrichment Operations. He retired in 2004 because of health concerns. Jim liked to cook, can, and garden; enjoyed reading science fiction novels, and was a gun enthusiast. Hi all, Abraham is given most often as the father of Shadrack JONES but, after looking through Ancestry, there seems to be another Shadrack JONES (not married to Mary Ann DAVIS). Abraham and Keziah are given for this other Shadrack's parents. Does anyone have any info that shows definitely who Shadrack's parents were. B. 1887 and D. 1958 in Chattanooga. She had 1 brother Henry but her mother remarried and she had a step brother by the name of Robert Johnson. I don't believe that the Richard Joyner who married Mary Stonecipher is the same as that which you listed. Mary Stonecipher was born in 1813. I believe the Mary that you have is actually Mary Nancy R. Summers b. 1 March 1848; d. 27 Jul 1931, Wartburg; bd. in Liberty Cemetery, Morgan County.
