Hello, I am trying to find info. regarding a Reverand James HAYNES who was a Baptist Minister in "early" Stewart Co. TN. This according to GOODSPEED's History of TN. He probably arrived in the County/also a Red River Settler, had land along the Barrens KY, c. 1795 and was associated with a Reverand EDGAR and others. Also a Rev. James HAYNES was interviewed "near" Paris TN in 1844 as to his observations of CAMPBELL's Unit during the Battle of King's Mountain. He was about 84 at this time. Any info. regarding early Baptist Churches and Ministers in Stewart Co. etc. will be greatly appreciated. This James HAYNES poss. had sons Asa, Thomas, David, Harry, Jonathan/Johnathan, dau. Ruth HAYNES and Grandson James HAYNES son of Harry above. I have James HAYNES Pension appl. S1910 and a Will of Apr. 1847. James HAYNES d. c. 1848 Henry Co. TN. Many thanks. Elaine Suhre
