I have a Wade Carney ... born about 1902 according to the 1930 census ... who married a sister of my great grandfather, Annie Elizabeth "Bess" Chapman. In the 1930 census they were in Christian County, KY and lived just a couple of homes away from what was called the Chapman family farm. So called, because many of the Chapman children of James Thurston Chapman and Lee Ella McCarter lived there in their own homes but on the same land as their parents. I'm pretty sure that Wade Carney would have died late 1930's to early 1940's because Elizabeth married again twice and no one in the family ever mentioned a divorce. She was still young enough that during her second marriage she had another child. (2nd marriage was to Ernest Weakley and 3rd marriage was to a Miller). Could some kind soul out there tell me how Wade Carney fits into all of the Carney's that are running around? <grin> The children of Wade and Elizabeth were: Raymond Earl (born about 1924), Charles Edward (b. 1929), Louise (who married a Cherry), Martha (who married a Cobb), and Barbara Ann (who married a Harrell). According to the 1930 census there was also a Sarah L. born about 1927 who would have been child #2 ... but she may have died young as my side of the family knows nothing about her.
