In 1821 at his death he owned 29 slaves NOT MENTIONED in the census, unless it was an abstraction not done well. In 1824, Cary HARRISON must have reached 21 because he `drew out' three slaves plus $72.00, `his share of the estate'. David's will named only Mary by name.....and ordered his executor to purchase $2000 worth of land `in the neighborhood of Clarksville' for his wife and family. He also ordered that his children be well educated. He owned shares in the Bank of Clarksville and held notes on MANY local people. In 1830 Montgomery-TN Census, there is a Mrs Mary HARRISON listed as HOH. 00002001-10011001 Who is that strange man in her household age 50-60??? An overseer would not be listed in the same household would he??? Twenty years later in 1850, the MARY HARRISON listed as HOH is my relative.... Are they all connected??? How would I find out who owned Glenn Weakley's farm in the 1820's???? Anybody have any clues where to look next? jerree
