What is your source of the wife's name, and what is your connection, Barbara? Cleo.
Cleo, You have made my day! A wonderful Saturday! Thanks so much! My connection is that Mary Bell Whitfield's mother was Laura Petrach Waller born c1840?-died? who married Constantine Whitfield (1835-1868). Laura P. Waller was a sister to my 2nd great grandmother Lucy Elizabeth Waller (1821-1878). The two women were the daughters (there were other children) of Thomas Carr Waller (1799-1872) and Martha M. A. Waller (her maiden name was Waller) (c1802-c1857) of Todd County, KY. Item #3 in Thomas Carr Waller's will: "It is my desire that my daughters Isabella and Virginia Waller shall educate and support my Grandchild Mary Bell Whitfield until her marriage or death should they out live her."Will Book M, Page 23, Todd County, KY. 1880 Census, Todd County, KY. ED #78, #2-2, Living with Belle Waller is May Belle Whitfield age 17. (I need to recheck my reading of the first name. Mary Belle/May Bell) From another source, whose accuracy varies, I learned Mary Bell supposedly married a Binkley. (Source about 95% correct as far as I can tell so perhaps I shouldn't be so doubtful.) I would say the burial of George W. Binkley in the Waller Burying Ground cements this as the right G. W. Binkley. Cleo, in your crystal ball, you don't just happen to know the location of the Waller Cemetery , do you? None of the cemetery sites have that info. Interesting, how "solving one question" always leads to another. Both Laura Waller Whitfield and Constantine Whitfield must have been dead by August 1870 as two of Mary Bell's siblings are living with their grandparents in the Joseph W. Whitfield household in Civil District #2 in Montgomery Co.
