Does anyone have any knowledge/connection with Charlotte Stamper. A marriage license was taken on July or August 17, 1867 in Stewart county for marriage to William Washington Smith, born May 28, 1847; died November 21, 1899. There are no Stamper families that I could find the 1850-1980 Stewart County Census, so am thinking possibly her family was just over the Stewart Co line in Montgomery County. William W. Smith later married Frances Adeline Pryor on April 3, 1871, in Stewart County. Any information/corrections on any one of these three persons would be appreciated. Diann

Do you mind looking in the Montgomery Co. book for any DILL or GIBBS marriages. Thanks, Millie
I've done a little work on the STAMPERS: Evidently there were at least six siblings: Mason Stamper (1798-1847) of Stewart Co., TN, who married Filisha _____ (1814-1868); Blount Stamper (d. ca 1858 Montg. Co., TN); Elizabeth Stamper (d. aft 1858); Robert Stamper (d. bef 1858); Silas Stamper (d aft 1858), married Minna ______; Jesse Stamper (ca 1811-aft 1859), married Martha ______, and had a large family. I am not a descendant, and don't have much else on them. Cleo.
