Hi to you all- I just received this message form Jill at the Montgomery Archives regarding their move next week. I wanted to let everyone to know what is going on so they can make plans. Frances From Jill: Our office is not quite ready yet but we are packing now and anticipate beginning our move the middle of next week. Our new temporary location is 2215 Madison Street, that is the Clarksville Gas and Water Building. The Archives' entrance will be on the east side of the building near the Sonic. Coming from downtown, it is just past the traffic light at Richview; coming from I-24 exit 11 on the 76-Connector, it's the drive immediately past Sonic. The phones, e-mail, and post office address all stay the same. We will be closed all of next week, and possibly part of the following week, depending on how fast we can move everything, once the building is ready. I'm working today to get the last of our current research requests answered, but any new requests sent in now will not be answered before the middle of August. If you know anyone planning a visit in the next 2-3 weeks, please suggest that they call first. The reference room will be the first area set up but some of the records may not be immediately available.
