    3. Greetings, My research shows that a 4,800 acre land grant was made to Gen. James West Green in 1787 for his Revolutionary War service. William Sullivant acquired acreage from this grant and gave it to his daughter Nancy Sullivant who married Samuel Smith. In 1804 Samuel and Nancy Smith built a stately home that resembles the Ames Plantation House in Memphis on this property in Montgomery County, TN near McAlister's Crossroads. I am interested in locating this house, if standing, and discussing the history of the place with anyone who knows about it. Thanks
