Hi Raymond I have some ties to the Coakley's. There is Tommy, s/oHillary, s/o Henry, s/o Monroe. Hillary had these siblings: Roy, Pie, Rick, Dorothy, and Billy Ray. It is possible that Pie was a nickname for one of these others. I did not know any of these personally. I know Hillary's son Tommy. Any of these ring a bell? William, The Coakleys are my brick wall. My father was one of 12 children born to Thomas William Coakley and Etta Veonie Averitt. Thomas Wm had one brother, John Harper Coakley. My notes are packed up right now, but Thomas and John were born in mid 1870's. Their mother was Adelade Coakley b. 1855, possibly the father was Henry Coakley. The boys were raised by Nancy Ellen Coakley Crotzer daughter of Catherine Ruth Coakley b. 1826. Catherine's husband is supposed to be named George. They lived in Montgomery Co. My aunt was contacted by a Coakley from the Ashland City Roy Coakley family. My uncle said Roy was a cousin, but I don't know how. I haven't tried to call them yet. I just started this genealogy quest in August. I would love to contact Tommy's Coakleys and get their gen. line information. I have made contact with a Teresa Young in Sparta, Tn who is related to James Coakley, probably the James who lived next door to Catherine in 1850 census not the James in Catherine's house. There's a 1 yr old Henry with Catherine that I suspect may be my great grandfather. The boy's parents weren't married according to family members. I've been told that Adelade left and went to possibly Stewart Co and had other children. I'd like to start gathering info on Tn Coakleys in case they are related and may help me track my Coakleys. Anyone on the list who could give me a "Christmas present" of information on these Coakleys would win my eternal gratitude!!!!!
