William--I am born and bred in Granite City. My parents moved here abt 1924/25. He was a KNIGHT, she was a BUCKINGHAM. KNIGHT'S mother was a LADD. My mothers' mother was a LOWERY.They were from Trigg and Christian Co., KY and Houston, Montgomery and Stewart Co. areas. Two of my dad's sisters married, KEEL and HARRIS, also moved here to Granite City. I can't think of others offhand, but as far as I know, we don't have any Barnes in our line. Of course, the Steel Mills were a blessing to people who were starving trying to sharecrop. Happy Holidays HKB
