In the Montgomery Co. Journals there is a John Boyd commissioned into the militia as a Captain in the 24th regiment on November 14, 1810. Marcus D. Boyd married Miss Sarah Balentine on Feb. 9, 1850. T. H. Floyd as security. Minister Wm. Shelton return Feb. 10, 1850 Public Sale for Del. Prop. Tax 1818- Adam Boyd's heirs-1500 acres near Clarksville for 10.03 Harrison Boyd's heirs - one lot in Clarksville - .33 James A. Boyd married Susan Brodie Jan 23, 1849. Security Robt H. Crews. Allison Akin MG return Jan 25, 1849. Walter Boyd listed as citizen in District 5. George C. Boyd listed as citizen in District 6 Forbes Bivouac #21 , Clarksville lists Butler Boyd, Clarksville Reg. March 28, 1889; born Feb. 15, 1844, Trigg Co., Ky.,enlisted May 1861, private; Co.-- 21st Tennessee; wounded 2; captured July 1862; released Nov 1862; paroled May 1865; Private; occupation druggest; died 1913. This is from one volumn of the Journals. And there are many more. Lots of mention of both names. If any of this sounds like it might help I'll try to find time to submit more.
