Hi Gayle, The only thing I know about Ambrose Martin is that he was Mary Trotter's husband. Mary was the dtr. of a sister (Eliz. Whitehead md. to Isham Trotter, Jr.) to my 5x great-grandmother, Angelica Whitehead Rook. However, somewhere in the back of my brain has been "noodling" the thought that there was more than one Ambrose Martin. I haven't quite formed a complete thought about it yet as I haven't been able to "nail down" just exactly who Ambose was. But, I do know that his name appears a whole bunch of times in the copies I made of records where my John Rook and his family members were mentioned---nothing substantial, just a line here and a line there---but somewhere in reading about him I began to get the idea that the dates seem to have made him a very old man---or else there was two of them (father and son??). Do you have any ideas about this? I am finally getting around to putting all of my Rook data into my database so right now it is just an unformed idea. Maybe as I go along I will come upon something more. Wish I could have been of more help to you.
