Hey Barbara Does Lucy have the name of Bartee or Bullock? If Bartee, would you be able to check when the census was enumerated? Was it two years late? The two were not supposed to have been married until 1852. Hmm... William
William here is how it is listed on the index by Sistler. Corbett, J. N. 28, Sarah 21, Eugene 1, Lucy 45, J. W. Bartee 31, T Ky, Mt-912-392. Corbett is my family not Bartee as far as I know. Barbara
Before we get confused---- The Lucy living with the Corbett family---what is the relationship shown? (Wondering if she was mother to one of the Corbett's.) I haven't checked the date of Lucy Bullock's birth but if she's the one that married JW Bartee, she was older than he was by a few years. Oak Plains is on the 'opposite' end of the county---between Hwy 12 and Hwy 41-A (toward Nashville)---and a whole lot closer to my end of the county than the area we are talking about! (I'm a little more familiar with this part of the county having lived here for the past 50 years.) (Cleo)--No, I haven't had a chance to contact anyone about Bullock Cemetery yet. Things 'on the hill' have been a little unsettling lately. On my side of the road is my uncle's house, my Dad's house, and my house--all seperated by driveways. Across the road from the drive between my uncle and Dad is where Travis' grandmother lives. Then, a drive to Travis' mother's house seperates it from my Aunt's house. (Wonder why they neighbor's this "Sheppard's hill"?) As everyone knows by now, Travis didn't pull through and his funeral was Sunday. On Monday, my uncle's wife had surgery----ovarian cancer. I think we are all in a state of disbelief (or something). I check in on the lists I'm on just to think about something different for a while! Sandy Ellis
