William (and anyone else researching this line)--- Don't believe the story about Jesse Bartee dying in 1826---it didn't happen! He appeared in court in July, 1828--when he transfered his land to William Ballard Bartee for an undisclosed sum of money. It was the same land he bought on Barton's Creek from Montgomery Bell in 1825. Also, when Jesse transfered the land to William Ballard, it was witnessed by Geo. and H. Harkleroad! Sandy Ellis
