    2. King William, In response to `one' query for the week....... I have nothing on Welker, Swift, Griffin, Bledsoe, or Brown...... I am searching for prior to 1825: WILLIAM HARRISON [1790VA-????TN], ABSALOM HEFLIN [c1787NC-1833TN] & any LANCASTER. That's `two'........suppose I should check back next week for the next query? jerree

    2. Can somebody see about getting some early Montgomery County records on the list? Prior to 1825.....Found a few on the web site......The early census would be nice....... I have written to the Court House for a copy of a specific book and page number over two months ago......with no response. How long is the wait???? Yes I sent a stamped envelope.... If this is a list that has one or two queries a week then it would be nice to have first names and dates posted with them. jerree

    2. Never heard Lincoln called Caesar but I did not read many newspapers in the 1860's as now, too much bias....too many advertisements.... Looks like apples & oranges again....Lincoln never was a warrior, he was an elected president. Gaius Julius Caesar was a warrior and conquered most of the known world. jerree

    2. Seems like everyone is agreeing today and wanting to get back to genealogy, when did you have that in mind. For my genealogy question; Does anyone have William Welker, Thomas Welker, Matilda Welker Swift, Anna Welker Griffin, Phoebe Ann Welker Bledsoe, John William Welker, George W Welker, Jacob G Welker, and Sarah Jane Welker Brown? These would have been born between 1810 and 1830. I am not real sure which of these are siblings. They are from two families. One is from John Welker and the other probably from Jacob. I believe John and Jacob were from PA. William and Thomas were born in MD and perhaps Matilda. Anna was born in KY. These four were certainly children of John. It gets fuzzy after that. The rest of the children were all born in TN. Do any of my loyal subjects have them in their files/family? I will abdicate the throne so as not to be beheaded. :) William

    3. Hurrah for you Jean. I was beginning to think genealogy had disappeared. We all have King William's political opinions down pat. Maybe someone can suggest a political mail board where his messages can be posted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "theshadow" <theshadow@glade.net> To: <TNMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 7:34 AM Subject: [TNMONTGO-L] Re: TNMONTGO-D Digest V02 #118 > I will be so glad when you guys get this war bickering out of your systems and get back to Montgomery Co. genealogy. You may have Hitler as a hero too. I have somewhat of an admiration for what he was able to do in lifting himself to power and for creation one heck of a war machine. It took darn near the whole world to stop him. He made just the slightest of blunders that cost him world domination. Had he waited 2-5 years to attack the world (minus the US, Italy, and Japan), I think he would have succeeded. He was in the development of rockets (missiles), jets, and atomic bomb. His scientist came here and completed their work so that we could bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On the other hand, I feel he was a madman. And further, that the providence of God had the higher power.

    2. William, This is a free country.... I can make my hero's anyone I ____ well please. In the book's `Tidewater Families' there are pages of families that submitted bills to the federal government for reimbusment for slaves who disappeared during the Rev War. Didn't matter if they died of old age, disease, the war, walked away, ran away and it didn't matter the age of the slave. Guess they could not keep them all shackled all the time. jerree
