Hi Debbie, I know you were not fishing for a compliment, you deserve it though. I too work on my family history. You are not a selfish person. Cathy Hollister has also contributed to the book. She is another friend I met through the book. Frances Osburn the web administrator is another friend I met through the internet. I could go on and on. Genealogy brings people together with common interests. People don't need to have the same family connections to help each other. I notice when someone asks for information "MyFriends" are always willing to provide what information they can even though there isn't a connection.
Thanks Sandra, You are truly Montgomery County's Genealogy ANGEL!!! I want to thank everyone who contributed so generously to the book. The CD version is in the court house cornerstones. Lots of people deserve praise for the book. While you are in Nashville, don't forget the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Great place to research. Ann

Recently was told by a RR worker that it was 1968 that the "Last Train to Clarksville" took passengers, and the TC (Tennessee Central) bought by the Illinois Central closed. If you are arriving in Nashville at the airport, there is a shuttle to Clarksville that is very reasonable. Does anyone know if that is still in operation? I think it was called Clarksville Limousine Service. Ida WA

Thanks to Karen and Carolyn for the reply. Years ago there was a train between Nashville and Clarksville but suppose that's a thing of the past. Thanks much. I live between Nashville and Clarksville and called the MTA number. They don't have a bus going from Nashville to Clarksville and suggested calling Greyhound. Their toll free number is 800-231-2222. Karen
Sorry I didn't see this. I live in Franklin, and grew up in Clarksville. From Franklin, go to I-65, and head north. Just after you go around Nashville, I-24 will split off to the left from I-65. Take I-24 to Clarksville, it is well marked. Will be staying with relatives in Franklin and in Nashville and want to escape for a day at the archives in Clarksville. I don't drive so am hoping that there is a bus that I could take to/from Nashville to Clarksville. If there is bus service, is the bus station/stop within reasonable walking distance? (PS was out today for a 4 mile walk so I'm not a wimp <g>). Why oh why did I let my driver's license expire...but then in New York City we don't need them <g>. Best wishes, Cary
Does anyone have information on Luther Webb Halliburton and wife Ethel Luther was born October 1889. Thank you.
Hi Listers- FYI The LDS Church site familysearch.com has posted the 1880 US census, 1881 Canadian and British census. These databases are all free! There is no access fee to view this information. Frances
Cleo, Could you please contact me at sandrajean@midsouth.net? I need to discuss what Howard Bagwell has done. He has printed a copy of my CD and sent the book to the library for review. Everything that I put on this website is in the book down to the Women's Academy I scanned. My CD's are already in the cornerstone of the courthouse & that is what he has printed out to sell. I apologize to anyone who loaned me something to be included. I never mean't for anyone to make a profit from my years of work and the material that was loaned to me. Debbie he even has one or more of your pictures that say donated by Debbie McMinn. I am so sorry & saddened by this. Sandra Stacey
