    3. Hello cousins, We've been in the San Francisco Bay area since 1988, long enough to remember the Loma Prieta quake and the Oakland Hills fire. Most of my family is still in Tennessee (and my blood still runs "Deep Orange") I'm looking for Smith, Bryant, Payne, and Sanderson. My Christmas list still includes the notes of Harry McFerrin Smith. Harry was my grandfather's brother, and was Montgomery County Clerk for years. During the `30s, he did a lot of research on our ancestors that I would dearly love to see. In the meantime, I'm delighted to have discovered so many wonderful people that are my cousins. Merry Christmas to all, Larry Smith Concord, CA _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

    2. Raymond Millman
    3. William, The Coakleys are my brick wall. My father was one of 12 children born to Thomas William Coakley and Etta Veonie Averitt. Thomas Wm had one brother, John Harper Coakley. My notes are packed up right now, but Thomas and John were born in mid 1870's. Their mother was Adelade Coakley b. 1855, possibly the father was Henry Coakley. The boys were raised by Nancy Ellen Coakley Crotzer daughter of Catherine Ruth Coakley b. 1826. Catherine's husband is supposed to be named George. They lived in Montgomery Co. My aunt was contacted by a Coakley from the Ashland City Roy Coakley family. My uncle said Roy was a cousin, but I don't know how. I haven't tried to call them yet. I just started this genealogy quest in August. I would love to contact Tommy's Coakleys and get their gen. line information. I have made contact with a Teresa Young in Sparta, Tn who is related to James Coakley, probably the James who lived next door to Catherine in 1850 census not the James in Catherine's house. There's a 1 yr old Henry with Catherine that I suspect may be my great grandfather. The boy's parents weren't married according to family members. I've been told that Adelade left and went to possibly Stewart Co and had other children. I'd like to start gathering info on Tn Coakleys in case they are related and may help me track my Coakleys. Anyone on the list who could give me a "Christmas present" of information on these Coakleys would win my eternal gratitude!!!!! 2. Hello Norris---You hit it right. My father was Alvin Carter Knight (known as Carter or A. C.) b June 24,1894, Dover, Stewart Co., TN d October 16, 1983 in Granite City, IL. Married Lavella Pirl (Pearl) Buckingham Jan. 17, 1917. Their register of marriage is in Montgomery Co., TN. I'm not sure if they were actually married in that county or Stewart or Houston. They had connections in all. Pearl's father was Charles Westley Buckingham b May 21, 1868 and his mother was Martha Ann Buckingham, she was not wed at the time. His father was (according to Carter Knight) a "Bud", (nickname) Buchanan. Have never established his given name. Pearl's mother was Mary Alice Lowery, but was always called, Miss Mollie by everyone. She was born in Houston Co. I have more on Buckingham, if you do not have it. Let me know. Where, if any place are you connected? Glad to help. Also is on the Gedcom if you want to pick it up from there. Helen Knight Bujnak

    2. Hi Raymond I have some ties to the Coakley's. There is Tommy, s/oHillary, s/o Henry, s/o Monroe. Hillary had these siblings: Roy, Pie, Rick, Dorothy, and Billy Ray. It is possible that Pie was a nickname for one of these others. I did not know any of these personally. I know Hillary's son Tommy. Any of these ring a bell? 2. Hi, Excuse me for joining in. I have been researching the Buckingham family for some time and think that I made another connection. I have a Pearl L. Buckingham born 7 Apr 1899 who married in 1915 to Alvin Carter Knight. She was the daughter of C. Wesley Buckingham and Mary Alice LOWERY. Would appreciate any additional information on this family. Thanks, Norris

    2. HKB I went to school with a girl named Theresa Buckingham. She would be about 38. I don't suppose she is one of yours. We have John Wesley Keel and son Charly. Lot's of Harris'. Our Barnes' have only been in TN since 1940 or so. My Granny from Houston Co moved to St Louis and met my Grandfather Barnes. He died in 1936. After a few year Granny moved back. Yes, the mills were good. Dad worked at Laclede Steel and Union Starch. Then he went to work for ACF/Shipper's Car Line in E St Louis. William

    2. Hi William, I saw your e-mail saying you were from Grantic City,Il. I am researching the Tennessee Heflins and have some from the Montg Co, and Stewart Co, Tn areas who went to Grantic City. Maybe you could help me with a few people. Gilbert Heflin went there and married Mattie Crockell--I believe that was her name and had several children. Louis Cornelius Heflin , Dean, Ann and Willie Green Heflin. also he was married before and had Corbitt who died young, Nellie and Opel Heflin. Can you help me with any of these families? There were a few others who went there to work. Merry Christmas and thanks. Would love to hear frm you. Carrol
