    1. Re: [TNMONTGO-L] SWIFT
    2. William, Evan (Evin) T. Swift was born 11/8/1810 & died 4/1/1885. He is buried in Sango Cemetary across the street from the Bethel Pres Church in Sango, TN...outside of Clarksville (Montgomery County). He grave stone is still somewhat legible. Matilda, I do not have anything on...except they were married in Dickson County, TN on 3/12/1838 by M.W. Gray. The Mark Wilson Swift I have, has to be a son. He & Fannie are buried about 50 feet from Evan. Also, they named their 1st two children (of 7) Evan & Matilda. Now, looking into this...I wonder if the M.W. of the preacher's name was Mark Wilson....will have to look into that. Do you have anything else? Do you know where the Welker's were from? Thanks, Jeff

    2. Hey Jeff I did have marriage for Matilda Welker and Evan Tracy Swift but not their dates of birth and death. I did not have his parents either, not their children. I would like to find out who Matilda's parents were. I am almost certain her father was either Jacob or John Welker. thank you William

These records were thought to have been destroyed in a 1973 fire which wiped out most Army records from 1912 to 1960 and most Air Force records from 1947 to 1964. 2. Ed Boyd
    3. I am searching for any information on my gg grandfather, Marcus BOYD, born in Tennessee ca 1822. He married Sarah Jane BALLENTINE in Montgomery Co., TN on 9 Feb. 1850. Children; John C. b. Nov./Dec. 1850 TN Daughter b. 15 Aug. 1853 Trigg Co., KY (died at birth) Margaret E. b. 16 Aug. 1854 Trigg Co., KY William L. b. 9 Apr. 1855 McCracken Co., KY Charles b. 21 May 1857 McCracken Co., KY Luther b. 1 Sept. 1861 McCracken Co., KY Sarah probably died shortly after Luther was born. I do not know where or when Marcus died. I have only their marriage record, the birth records of the children and the 1860 census of McCracken Co. My great grandfather, John C., married Nancy HALL 22 Jan. 1877 in Montgomery Co., TN. John and Nancy and two of their children, Edward Lee and Andrew Thomas, are listed on the 1880 census of Cheatham Co., TN. They returned to the Lovelaceville area of Ballard/McCracken Co. ca 1882 and john died there the winter of 1887-88. I have found three other Marcus BOYDs; one married Eliza HAMILTON in Williamson Co., TN in 1825 and later moved to MO, another married Mary Jane TURNER in Bledsoe Co., TN and the last one married a Margaret BOYD in Trigg Co., KY in 1857. They do not appear to be directly connected to my gg grandfather. Any information would be most appreciated. mailto:[email protected]

    3. Go to the Montgomery County Pages and look under the sections in the Photo Block. I think you will enjoy seeing these. 3. Jody, My name is Sandra Stacey and I would love a copy of your picture of Sunnyside School too. I am the person that has all of the pictures of Schools you see on the web site. I work for the school system at the Board of Education in Central Records. My office is where the pictures are archived. Anyone else out there that has pictures of schools or students please share. I put everything I contribute to the web site on a CD. Copies are donated to the Archives, Library, History Center, etc. My CD's are not for sale but to share. When I finish copying all of the Purple & Golds they will be available too on a CD.
