    1. [TNMONTGO-L] REAGAN, FINCH, COLLINS
    2. I am trying to trace my Grandmother's parents. I have the following limited information and would appreciate any information. Ella Finch (my GGM) married J J (John J) Reagan in Montgomery County Sept 13, 1877. They are found on the McLennon County, Texas 1880 census in 1880 with John's nine children (Mattie, Mollie, Will, Alexander Ethan, John Marshall, Ben, Charles, Edward and Sallie) and Ella's two children (Willie Zade Finch and Robert Finch) and two children of their own (Fenner and Walter). John died Aug 4, 1885 and Ella died Jan 24, 1891 in McLennon County, Tx. John J Reagan was previously married (Jan 29, 1860 Montgomery County, Tn) to George Ann Collins (d 1875, Montgomery County, Tx). Would love to know the "unknown" Finch that Ella married and her maiden name - Willie Zade (my GM) was born in Kentucky, Robert in Tennessee. What would be the possible counties just across the border in Kentucky?? This GM is my namesake who died when my Dad was a small child so any information would be welcome. 3. Hi, I don't know where I read this, but I believe the reason they did not smile "back then" in pictures was because the slightest movement would have resulted in a "blur". If you will notice in some pictures of couples, families, etc. there is sometimes a slight blurring in parts of the pictures---especially if there are small children in the picture. Originally many people were posed using metal stands which held their heads and bodies straight---and motionless. I also think that people were so used to sitting still that the practice probably continued long after it was necessary. It is amazing how "sophisticated" the cameras were back then. Just a thought. But I don't know if that's true , just what I've been told, Caroline ----- Original Message ----- From: bzbee <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2001 3:18 PM Subject: Re: [TNMONTGO-L] clark > Excuse me for jumping in here, but almost all the old photos that I see are of > very stern people. 3. In Dale County Alabama there are several Bagwell families and all seem to have had 10 and 11 children. Gives names and dates. I believe someone on this site is searching for Bagwells. Thought some of them might have migrated to Tenn. I don't know how to send the url but it is genweb and the county. I went thru Henry Co. and then to all the other counties around. Just an idea that it might help someone. You never know where they will turn up. J...

    3. http://www.nara.gov/nara/searchnail.html is the correct address CLICK ON STANDARD SEARCH enter the keyword Guion Miller, click submit search, after screen changes click display results, then click the full button on item # 2 then click the link "link to digital copies" it will present a number of items from which you can get displays of pages with names and numbers listed Dawes is there also - not complete There are some GM pages missing even though they are thought to be complete. If these don't help, try to find someone with Cherokee by Blood book series - lots of info in there. Then you can request copies of whole application packey from NARA Leslie
