    1. Re: [TNMONTGO-L] school census
    2. Frances---That's the reason I was asking for help in identifying what Co. it was from. My Knight, Francis, Ladd family came from mostly Trigg and Christian Co KY. BUT, they also have parts of the family in all the six counties that surround the TN and KY State lines. As I stated I only have page 46. I need to establish if anyone can tell me where Thomas District No 21 for 1894 would be. I've have been on several trips to the area my parents were from, the libraries and court houses. Somewhere I made this copy and it got lost in the shuffle. Found it in my Knight file for info I did not know what to do with at that time. If anyone out there can help me determine the orgin of this record I will copy it and sent it to anyone who wants it. I would like to know where it came from and also what the prior pages said. I can't travel to the sites now, and have to be content with what I can gather and share from other people. Thanks. Sandy--would love a copy of the CD when available. Would sure send you the expense of it, and grateful to get it. Helen

    3. Hi- I would love to have a copy of this 1894 school census for the Montgomery County pages. If this is the complete listing I could use it with no trouble. I know that Sandra Stacey would like to have a copy also. She is collecting Montgomery County articles and histories for the Montgomery County CD she is producing. She makes these CD available to the library, Montgomery County archives and interested folks free of charge. She has many School census records from throughtout the years that she appear on the Montgomery County Web Pages. Let me hear from you regarding placing these records on the Montgomery pages. 2. Pam---Thank you, but I do have that record. That was my paternal ggrandparents. Elizabeth Francis was the dau of Levi Francis and Jane, maiden name, from Trigg Co. KY. That's as far back as I have on them. I do believe the Bette Knight in the school record is my Elizabeth (Bettie) Francis Knight. That's for responding. HKB

    2. Hi all----I found a hard copy of page 46 Census Report of School Children. Someone has hand written 1894. Also on the left side handwritten School Children Book 1. Listed are names of parents or guardians, names of children, number, age and male or female. One on that list is Bettie Knight, who had a daughter, HARRIET KNIGHT, who I was told married a COLEMAN, first name never determined. Bettie is listed as the parent or guardian of JACK COLEMAN #64, male, age 15. Now I think this Bettie Knight was my ggrandmother,(ELIZABETH FRANCIS), who marr RICHARD KNIGHT Jan 19 1853. Montgomery Co. TN. Half way down the page is a hand written heading it has, Thomas District No. 21. My questions are, is this in Trigg Co. KY or in Stewart, Montgomery Co. TN? In 1894 where would Thomas District 21 be? Evidently a prior page would show what District Bettie Knight and Jack Coleman would have been in. Would like to know if anyone has any access or could tell me if this would be in court records or school records? I will list all the names in case someone else would be interested. 3. Can anyone definitely establish the fact that Capt John Baker of Montgomery Co, TN (married Ann Norfleet in NC) is a son of Thomas Baker (d.1774) and wife, Dorothy Davenport of Culpepper, VA? Their daughter, Lucinda, married Wylie Blount. I am finding conflicting lineage records for the ancestry of this Capt John Baker. Also, has anyone found a record of other children of this John and Ann Norfleet Baker? Thank you, Elizabeth Baker

    2. Sorry, Laura. I only have one census for Christian County, as my folks were mostly from Trigg and Stewart. I have no interest in Christian until the 1930s or 1940s. I can look when I go to the library again. I'm sure they have that census. I will have to make a note or I will forget. I'll let you know. Thanks for keeping up with me on this. I'll help all that I can. Jean C~~

Maybe they moved to Kentucky as someone sent me information saying my ggrandfather James R. Ferrell was born in Christian County Ky. Laura
