FYI I just received this message from Cleo Hogan. . . The Montgomery County Historical Society has sold all but eight of the Family History 2000 books, and the eight remaining are LEATHER, costing $89 plus $6 postage, available at: MCHS, PO Box 262, Clarksville, TN 37041-0262. [The books are available otherwise from the publisher, and the Christian Co., KY Genealogical Society.--I do NOT know the prices there.] Frances
Hi Frances, I hope you are ready for more of Geneva's stuff :) I gave you a break and now it's time to get busy again. Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day. I goofed and fell asleep floating in the pool, and now I look like a lobster. It was such a peaceful day I just drifted off. I have been busy on the weekends and tired during the week. Our office has been getting a new filing system, and we had to move filing cabinets and boxes. In the evening I have been too tired to move. It is a nice tiredness though. I have lost 31 pounds at the doctor's suggestion. So even though I may be tired I feel good. (Does that make any sense? Well I am at work and have tons to do today, so I had better run. Have a nice day. Sandra
Jeanne- I would love to have a copy of the picture with the identified persons named. There are several ways you can send the picture to me 1. scan it as a jpg file and send it to me via e-mail or 2.mail a copy to me with information attached or 3. when you go to Clarksville, Sandra Stacey will be glad to scan it for you if she can have a copy. She is doing a CD of Clarksville-Montgomery material and is collecting all kinds of information. This CD is being placed in the library, school district office and Montgomery County Archives. Hope you have a good trip and happy hunting for family information. Hope to hear from you soon. Frances Raymond Millman wrote: > Frances, > A school photo from Hickory Point School 1930. What were the starting dates for publications of newspapers in Dickson and Montgomery counties? Of my knowledge, the only Montgomery County paper has always been the Leaf Chronicle. I don't know what's in Dickson. Are there organizations that will search and copy portions of old papers, for a fee? Michelle
Frances, I'm having a copy made of picture tomorrow. I think I will send it to Sandy and she will provide you with a copy. I've spent too much time on computer doing last minute seaching. I did find another Warden cousin , now I'm hoping to hear from her before I leave> Her greatgrandmother lived in Clarksville, so she may live in the area. I want to meet as many people in person while in Tn. Jeanne P.S. Shh! The Montgomery web site is the best of the bunch! The search engine is much easier to use than the rootsweb search engine on the other Tn county pages. Everybody does a wonderful job, I don't want to offend anyone. I just wonder why they don't set their site up like Montgomery.

Frances, A school photo from Hickory Point School 1930. My aunt has identified some of the children and the 2 teachers. How would I submit it to the Montgomery page? Also, while I'm in Montgomery Co in May which sites might be interested in a copy of the photo? I will be using the Clarksville library and the Count Archives. Jeanne
I'm looking for relatives of Dora Elizabeth Bailey and B. O. Westerfield. Dora was born after 1876 and probably before 1901. They had 2 children, Jo and James. I don't know when she died, is there someone I can write to to request an obituary or death certificate search? They may have lived in Clarksville, but certainly one of the 2 counties. Thanks, Michelle
The TNGenWeb search engine is found on the Montgomery Home page in the in the first set of listings cited as TNGenWeb site search engine. [email protected] wrote: > How do I access the TnGenWeb search engine

FYI- Frances -------- Original Message -------- Subject: TN-Announce The TNGenWeb Site Search engine Date: Mon, 7 May 2001 00:28:27 -0600 (MDT) From: Nancy Cole <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Hi folks, We have had a few inquiries as to why the search engine returns only 100 viewable hits....it seemed reasonable in the beginning and many search engines work that way...surnames are a bit different however. Thanks to the sys admin waving his magic wand all hits are now accessible. If the visitor gets 2976 hits they can view all of them. -- Nancy
