No Confederate soldiers rec'd pensions, as they were considered traitors and not elegible for US pensions. The state was broke, so no help came from there. IF the soldier or his widow lived beyond 1920, there is a possibility that they were given a pension by US, as most who survived were quite old and getting destitute by that time. My husband had a grt grandfather that started out as a Confederate out of Madison Co., NC, jumped the fence and joined the Union during the last couple of years, and when he applied for a pension, and 8 year paper battle ensued! He finally was granted $8.00 a month in the late 1890's. This was actually lucky for us, as the 2" thick file basically gave his entire war history, with about a dozen affidavits, etc. Do you live anywhere near Forest Park, SE of Atlanta? That is where the SE Regional Office is, and they have copies of all the materials found in Washington for this area on microfilm. Not hard to find, pleasant place to work, but so many interested that reader times are sometimes limited.
