Post Oak Springs was a favorite spot for trappers and other travelers to camp out early, and the are described and such in in all of the older histories, like Ramsey and HAywood. The Springs were technically ON the old Tennesse River. The flow changed a bit when TVA built the Watts Bar Dam, and some of the old places are under water. The old Post Oak Springs cemetery, the new church and a later cemetery are still located along the OLD road - like so many - followed a black snake, or old Indian trail. Would have to look up Citico Springs. Been on two day research trip. Will try to remember to look tomorrow and nail that one. I have heard of it, but my mind is blank tonight!
