Surnames: GILES-HENSLEY-GALYON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RgB.2ACE/245 Message Board Post: GILES, William married HENSLEY, Margaret: 9-14-1835, Roane Co, TN I am looking especially for the *GILES* ancestors of the above William GILES who is said to have farmed close to where Roane and Loudon Counties meet but in pre-Loudon Co days (that is, before 1870). His wife, however, is from a Monroe Co. HENSLEY family. William may have been born in VA. His father - also William GILES - is said to have immigrated from Ireland. Does William GILES who married Peggy HENSLEY belong to any of the GILES families of Post Oak Springs or Citico - both in Monroe Co, TN where Peggy's relatives can be found, or was he in Roane Co near Kingston as his grandson's obituary says? I can find Margaret "Peggy" HENSLEY's parents, Benjamin HENSLEY and Mary GALYON, but for the life of me, I can't find the family of William GILES. If it helps at all: William and Peggy were the parents of James Calvin GILES (abt 1845-1932, a Civil War vet from Roane Co, TN). I don't have the names of any other of their children. Any leads or help to break through this GILES brick wall would truly be appreciated. Thanks.
