You may find this William Giles is the William on the 1830 Monroe Co. census. Later he was in Mc Minn and then in Bradley with son Benjamin. James Calvin filled out a questionaire after his Civil War days that is interesting. I think his wife's name was Olive. Is that right?? I'm working with olde peabrain here but I think that's right. As far as anyone knows he was not related to Thomas Robert* or Holloway Giles lines of Monroe Co. Holloway came down from Cocke Co. Tn & Thomas R. came across the mountains on the Unicoi turnpike from SC. There was another William & Sina Giles in Polk but not the same people. They came down from upper E. TN. Hope this helps.
