I am reposting again in the hopes of breaking down a wall on William Houston LORANCE. Quite a few sources state that he was born in Monroe County in 1825. One source gave me a father for William as Joseph LORANCE, but I have no tie-in as yet. At some point before 1847, he moved to Bradley County, where he enlisted for the War with Mexico in Cleveland. The name may have been spelled Lowrance at one time. I also know that he married Mary M. (Hill) Owens, of Sweetwater, but the marriage took place in Missouri. She was first married to Joseph Marshall Owen, also of Sweetwater, in 1849. Thanks for any info in advance. Dawn-Moree Dugan
