Tellico Plains is in Monroe. BUT..the county lines changed alot back then. I found him in 1900 census with wife Lucy, children Charles, Robert, Jessie, Ida and William. Not sure if this is who you were talking about but it is a start. Also said that Alfreds father was born in Ireland and Mother in Germany. This information may or may not help in determining if this is the Alfred you were inquiring about. Patti Hawk
