Baker 2/6/1881, Book E, page 142 Found an article in the Monroe Co. Heritage Book on this couple ; # 1359 William McConnell and Eliza Pack Stiles. This info was submitted by Larry Stiles from Ala. If you want his address, email me privately at masonms@onemain.com The article tells the parents of William McConnell Stiles were Charles Stiles and Kezia "Kizzy" McConnell from Haywood Co. , NC. Parents of Eliza Pack were Jeremiah Pack and Mary Gregory. Pack Mountain in Cherokee Co., NC was named after Jeremiah Pack. In the War of 1812 papers it tells that Jeremiah was descended from Cherokee Indain ancestry. The article states they had 8 children; Also W.H. Stiles married 2nd to Rebecca's niece, Jane Ellen Baker. Another son, Charles was born 1857 in Polk Co., TN. He died in TX or New Mexico, unknown wife. The order of children goes; 1.Leander "Lee" Reno , b. 9/17/1846, Cherokee Co., NC; d. 9/26/1917 in Ladonia, TX, 2nd wife unknown. 2. Aurelis "Relis" Shelton, b. 6/8/1848, Cherokee Co., NC; d. Margaret "Maggie" A. b. 10/27/1852, Polk Co., TN; d. 1/7/1900, McMinn Co., TN 5. Mary A. b. 2/20/1855 Polk Co., TN; d.date unknown 6. Charles "Charlie" b. 12/15/1857, Polk Co., TN ;d. Tx or New Mexico, unknown wife 7. William "Bill" Howell b. 6/2/1860, Polk Co., TN ; d.1/2/1953 Bloomburg, TX 8. Jackson "Jack" LaFollette b. 10/12/1863, Mt. Vernon, Monroe Co., TN; d. 6/24/1945, Athens, TN, McMinn Co.; About 1846 William's brother Albert Stiles moved from Macon Co., NC to Ducktown, TN in Polk Co. as well as their parents Charles and Kizzy Stiles. The Stiles brothers work in the Copper mines of Polk Co., TN. William and Eliza Stiles are buried at Eleazar Cem. , Mt. Vernon, Monroe Co., TN.
