There has been some confusion about the message posted by Joyce Reece. Monroe and McMinn share many of the same families, but some of you are thinking the Chancery records are Monroe but they're actually McMinn's Chancery records, these are the ones Joyce is referring to and stated such, but it is easy to assume that when the message was posted to Monroe Co.'s mailing lists that it was Monroe Co. Records. However Joyce is the one who rounded up the great volunteers who worked on the Monroe Co. Deeds to get them up, so I don't want anyone to be disappointed when you don't see Monroe Chancery records go up. Monroe's oldest chancery records are really great but they're loose papers. Boyer abstracted these years ago in book form, and we do have look-up people for those. Lynn McConkey abstracted the newer records, but as of now we can't post those either. But we can do a look-up. If you've never used Chancery records they have a wealth of information. I just wanted to get that clear. Joy Joy Locke [email protected] Monroe Co. Tn.
