We (meaning everyone researching in this area) need a volunteer. I have been given permission to copy and use the Chancery Court Records Name index for McMinn County. The document is 426 pages long and is too detailed to make the attempt to post the entire document on the internet. The job is too massive for us to handle.........so we will attempt to do this: I will choose two or three VERY DEDICATED volunteers and send them copies of this index. A link for the person (S) doing the lookups will be placed on the McMinn and Monroe Tenn. Gen. Web. sites. When a lookup is requested you would provide the info included. The name index is cross-referenced according to case numbers. There are thousands of names in this index and by accessing the index with the names of the people involved it could lead a person to getting copies of the court record itself. Please do not make a decision to volunteer lightly. This is something that will be needed indefinately....even to the point of passing it along to another dedicated volunteer when the time comes.
