Johnson, Adm. of Emanuel Smith dec'd et al V. Robert Rider et al. Filed 14 Apr. 1872. Suit to declare sale of land illegal. Emanuel Smith was taken to prison in Knoxville whre he died 29 Dec. 1864. (There was a dispute over a mule by a minor son and Robert Rider.) Rider sued over the note for the mule and took property of Smiths. The Complainants besides Johnson are, Hiram Pearson and wife Sarah formerly Smith, James Smith, John Shadden and wife Martha formerly Smith, Nancy C. Smith (all of Monroe Co.), Henderson Henson and wife Susan formerly Smith of Loudon Co., Silas Person and wife Jane formerly Smith of Missouri. # 771 Hiram Pearson et al V. Rebecca Douglass et al. Filed 22 Dec. 1879. Emanuel Smith died leaving heirs; Sarah wife of Hiram Pearson; James R. Smith; Susan wife of Henderson Henson, nonresidents; Martha wife of John Shadden; Jane wife of Silas Pearson of Mo.; Mary wife of Richard Jones of Mo.; Elizabeth Smith Fry, resdience unknown; Nancy C. Smith of Mo.; M.F. Johnson, now dec'd was the Adm.; This book was transcribed from microfilm or original records by Reba Boyer in 1988. (She put a short summary of each record.)
