I thought I might stir things up a bit. I have been reviewing new and old research and it is my belief that many of the MOSES in Monroe Co. TN. in 1840-1850 are children of DAVID MOSES, b. 1765. DAVID was likely married to NANCY LONG. Additionally, it is possible that DAVID MOSES was married twice. We know that DAVID had AT LEAST 6 sons. I believe they include; THOMAS of Monroe Co. TN., DANIEL MOSES of 1850 Monroe Co. TN., an unnamed son whose widow ELIZABETH was living in Monroe Co. TN. in 1840-1850, JESSE MOSES of Burke Co. NC. and DAVID MOSES lll. Other likely candidates are; CALVIN (JAMES or JOHN) found in Polk Co. TN. in 1843, and JAMES of 1810 Burke Co. NC. As JOHN is a very strong given name in our lines, it is quite likely that there is a JOHN in there somewhere. It is my belief that SAMUEL MOSES who died in Monroe Co. TN. in 1830, is given credit for a lot of children that aren't his. Love to hear from you all. Billie
