Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RgB.2ACE/647 Message Board Post: Hello: I have been helping a friend do some family reseach. One of the family lines I am helping with is that of Alfred Swanson who's parents were Burbin Daniel Swanson and Louisa _____?_____. From what I have read on line, almost everyone says that Louisa's maiden name was GREY. I don't see it at the moment. I see Burbon and Louisa Swanson in the 1850 census in Georgia in the James Grey household; but no-one has documented the relationship (that I can see). QUESTION: Has anyone paid attention to the Pension file of "Burbin Daniel Swanson"? In the Robert Barker Civil War papers listed on the Monroe County, TN website it lists his widows name as Louisa C. TAYLOR, married in 1845 Monroe County, TN. Does anyone have a copy of Robert Barker's notes on Burbin Daniel Swanson; or a copy of his pension file? Did Louisa have a previous marriage to a TAYLOR? Other things I have noticed is that in the 1870 census Cherokee County, North Carolina LOUISA SWANSON & FAMILY is listed next door to Annie Taylor who is living in the Elijah Montgomery household. (If anyone has Ancestry.com; the interpetation there is Louisa Mason-- but that is NOT correct; If you look at the census and family members you will see it is Louisa and children of Burbin Daniel Swanson. I am leaning toward Louisa being a TAYLOR. Thank you, John Longworth White PS: Also, listed in the pension file list of Robert Barker notes is Elijha Swanson who's wife is listed as Eliza Taylor (another daughter of Isaac and Annie Taylor). Has anyone oredered either of these two pension files? If so, I would like to see a copy. Thanks!
