In 1860 Monroe Co., Census; # 1970 / 1993 McConkey, Jno. Sr. 54, VA Rachel, 55, NC A.B. 21 male, TN Lizzie I? 17, TN # 1971 / 1994 McConky, Lewis 19, TN Polly 18, TN # 1972 / 1995 McConkey, John 25, KY Mary 23, TN Margaret 5 Alices 3 John 1 all children born in TN Sarah McConkey was born about.1829. I have not figured out her maiden name yet. She may have married a Rogers first, not sure? In 1880 Monroe Co., TN Census; DIst. 7 # 78/79 McConkey, Sally 47 , widow (age may not be correct) Nashey 18 Frankey 12 In Monroe Co. marriage records; McConkey, Sallie to William Sitzler 1/9/1881 (not your Sallie, this one was born 1860.) Found an article in Monroe Co. Heritage Book, on John Jesse McConkey He has born 1807 in VA married about. 1826 to Rachel Welbourn born 1805 in NC. Children of John and Rachel were; Samuel, Richard, John Jr., James M., Alexander B. , Lewis, and Elizabeth Jane (Betty). Rachel died Apr. 1867. J.J. married Sarah Rogers, 27 years his junior, a widow of James Rogers with three children; J.J. and Sarah had one child Frankie, 1868 married John E. Hooper Nov. 1888. In Marriage records; James Rogers to Sally Woodfin 3/5/1844. Sally would be about 13 yrs. old. Not sure if this is your Sallie McConkey.
