Joyce: I cannot specifically answer that question. I do know that my WILSON ancestor and three of his brothers left McMinn County, TN in 1852 and arrived in Stone / Barry County, MO in 1853. Several of their Tennessee neighbors also appear in that area of Missouri. I can only guess that they went by wagon train.
