My line left there by the early 1840s, but I believe other relatives might have stayed there longer. Is there any mention of Benjamin and/or Randle (Randall) HENSLEY? Randle HENSLEY married clementine JOHNSON in Monroe County about 1830, but her parents have not been determined, though possibly her father was William JOHNSON. Is there information on JOHNSON family(ies)? Thank you for checking.

I'd like to remind those of you who may have made a request from him this month and never received a reply, his computer was down and he lost e-mail so request those again. While updating I found three requests that were already up. Please, please check to see if they're already online as this causes lots more work for Glenn to type obits that he did before. You have the advantage here by finding them already up. Please just read the instructions. There may be more than one entry for some of these names. File 17 has these names: Leonard A. White; Wm. E. Clark; Mrs. J.D. Clark; John Dick Clark; Oscar Muller Clark: W.E. Clark; Rufus White; Wm. Clayton White File 18 has these names: Calvin Goss; Johnnie M. 2. was just looking at the McMinn information on the GenHaven site and the website is fantastic. My question about the Monroe County Heritage book is this. Before I buy the book, could you look in its index and see if there is any information on Hawk, Kelley, Tate families. My husband is from Tellico Plains and he would be thrilled with this book. Also could you tell me how much the book is and how to order. Thank you in advance for your help. Patti Hawk Have I missed something? Is the Monroe CO Heritage book going to be reissued? Luci Mckin

    1. CORDLE (other spellings) - Monroe County Heritage Book
    2. Mary Hart
    3. I just saw your reply to another message asking about names in the Monroe County book. Could you please tell me if there is anything mention of the Cordle, Caudill, and other spellings of this family name in the book. Elnathan CORDLE was in Mornoe County from about 1835 until at least 1861 and probably died there sometime after that date. Other surnames connected with him could be Martha PENDEGRASS, Isabella FRY, and Frederick & Elizabeth DEAN -- the first two being his wives and Elizabeth being his daughter from a previous marriage. Thank you very much for your help. Mary Hart

I can't even imagine not owning this. My father is from Tellico and when I bought it I could not believe how many other families within this book connected to my own. All three of your names are in the book, don't know if they're your family, but the names are there. Within the book they could be found anywhere within another family, but I'm only going to note the ones that are titled and numbered for you. Article #807, HAWK, Page 226. Names mentioned are Tim Hawk, wife Rosseana and 2 young daughters, one being named Cordelia, these are times during the Civil War. Article submitted by a Lovingood. Article #918, JOHN AND MARY KELLEY, Pioneer Family, Pg 268. (Has photographs) Names mentioned John and Mary Kelley 0f SC, moved to McMinn Co in early 1800's. Lee Roy Kelley, a son, wife Lettie Elliot, she was a Cherokee Indiana. Lee's children, Rosanna, Isaiah, Didama, Arminta, Dortheley, Eli, Larcena and William. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RgB.2ACE/615 Message Board Post: Henderson Henson and wife, Susan Smith and their family apparently lived on 4 Mile Branch in the vicinity of Niles Ferry, Monroe County, TN until near the time he submitted his petition to the Southern Claims Commissioners in losses incurred at his farm on 4 Mile Branch in Monroe County. The Claim was submitted by Henderson and Susan Henson in Loudon, Loudon County where they indicated their postal mailing addresses were at the time of the first claim submission January 1873. The Loudon County, Tenn. Gen Web board <http://www.tngenweb.org/loudon> has some information on this family. Henderson and Susan are both buried at Steekee Cemetery - Part II and their death certificates are posted at this site in the 1908-1912 Death Certificates section. Susan Henson left a will which is posted on line.Obituaries for them and several of their decendants are available just by typing in "Henson" (but not the county) on the obituary site. Their son, George Norris Henson, left a very revealing obituary which contains a wealth of family history.
