Yes, it sounds like we need to share some information. My great-great grandfather was William Anderson Graves and married Elizabeth (Betty) Rogers. My great-grandfather was George Taylor Graves but went by Taylor. Sounds like your great-grandfather and my great-grandfather were brothers. I gathered my basic information early on and have been working on my Mom's paternal side and am just starting up on this line again. My e-mail address is listed above. Feel free to e-mail me directly and I'll send you all I've gathered so far on Taylor's line. Maybe we can help each other fill in some gaps...

So I checked out my husbands family tree and his great grandfather married a Ellen or Elenor Graves. His great grandfathers name was James Tate and was born in 1817 and died in 1885. I tried to find this woman then with no luck. Another thing....my husbands brother married a GRAVES from Tellico and Monroe County. I will try to find out her parents names...he can't remember what they were as they were always addressed and Mr. Graves and Mrs. Graves. I will see what I can come up with. One of these Graves families may be connected with yours. You sure never know, do you? Patti

Johnson was the son of Benjamin & Jemima Edington Johns(t)on. Benjamin & Jemima were the parents of Amanda Johnson who was the 1st wife of William Williams II of Williamsburg area of Monroe. Wm. Taylor also went back and forth from Tennessee to Oklahoma. My grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth (Bettie) Graves Windle was born in Manchester, Oklahoma (Grant County). Possibly George Washington and William Anderson were brothers or cousins? I'm showing William Anderson's father as Silas b. 1818 in TN.
