Hi List, gthis from another list I belong to, Enjoy, Edith Talking about original sources made me think that the list may be interested to know about www.nationalarchivist.co.uk <http://www.nationalarchivist.co.uk/> apparently the documents coming online are digitised images of the originals held at the Public Record Office in London. The death duty indexes are of particular interest because searching them is an extremely good way to find a Will, the difficulty being that prior to 1858 Wills and Administrations could be proven in any of the many different probate courts in the UK and therefore finding it can be very difficult as there is no national index but in fact the Death Duty index does take the form of a national index, although as far as I am aware you could only look at the complete index on film at the PRO in London. Therefore this new site could be quite helpful.

Dear List Members, I am again on the hunt for my Isaac WARREN born about 1815 in NC. He married Emily BROOM on the Oct 27 1838 in Monroe Co., TN. They had the following children by 1850 William b. 1840, Susan b. 1842, Mira b. 1845, Joanna b. 1847. The family is still living in Monroe Co., TN in 1850. The 1850 census is the last proof I have found for family. I have clues they migrated to IL to a community called Humistan but no proof. Emily BROOM was a daughter of Mark and Mary BROOM of Pendleton Co., SC. If you know of Isaac and Emily WARREN or have seen them in your search, I would love to hear from you. Kathleen Burnett

I've just scanned and uploaded another old photo to my website "Kinfolks in the Knobs." This is thought to be Joe and Maggie (Davis) Ashe who lived at Martin's Creek in Cherokee County, NC.
