There's nothing for 1913. 1914 on have the valuable information though there are mistakes made. There's a 50 yr. wait to be released to public but you can still or newer ones minus the cause of death if you're related. I can't find either of the men in Monroe Co. death certs. however. If they died in another county (i.e. a Knoxville hospital in Knox Co.) then they'd be from that county. They're not shown in the Glenlock/Rockville Cem. Joy

We have been informed that they were buried in Rockville Cemetary but have not found any confirmation. Alex probably died somewhere around 1910-1911 era. He was married to Lilly Forshee. I know from census information found in 1850 Bradley Co., TN census that Levi was married to a Margaret. I need to confirm she is a WILSON. Levi was found on the 1830 Monroe Co. census, 20-30 yrs. old, a wife 20-30 yrs and 2 males under 5. Levi and Margaret were in Bradley Co in the 1840 census and in 1850 Bradley census; 26th sub-division, 26 Nov 1850, pg 245, D/F 1506, Lines 23-42 Levi Carter 45 TN Blacksmith Margaret Carter 36 John 17 Robert 15 Jesse (?) 12 Jacob 10 Abigail 9 Nancy 7 (Possibly named for her grandmother Nancy) James 3 Terressa 1 (Possibly named for Margaret's sis) All children born in TN. My Wilson THOMAS b c 1815 married Tresa WILSON b c 1817 most likely in Monroe Co. Tersa's mom was Nancy WILSON b c 1777 VA...and I do not know her husbands name. I believe that Nancy and her husband had these children; John Wilson (maybe a son) Margaret Wilson b c 1814 Robert Wilson Tresa Wilson b c 1817 There probably are more Wilson children that I have not named yet. I do not know who Levi CARTER's parents were nor his siblings yet. I know they were in Monroe Co., TN prior to moving into Bradley Co., TN. I have not found information yet on Nancy Wilson's husband who may have died prior to 1830. A Nancy WILSON is listed as a widow in Monroe Co, TN 1830 census. So, still looking for a Will or some information that will give me his first name. Barb (Thomas) Fitzmaurice http://www.geocities.com/blynnfitzz/index.html

This came from the Bradley County Mailing List, thought it was worth passing on. 08/03/2003 CEDAR RAPIDS Web site owner charged with ID theft A man was charged Friday with identity theft and money laundering after a police investigation into two genealogy Web sites he ran. Elias Abodeely II operated the Web sites FamilyDiscovery.com and Genseekers.com from his home. Abodeely would take e-mail addresses of people who posted to the sites' forum pages, then send the victims an offer to become a member of the Web site for a fee of $19.99 to $59.99. The offer led victims to believe they had a five-day free trial period, but they were unable to cancel their memberships. Their accounts were already debited the fee amount. Cedar Rapids police arrested Abodeely after a two-year investigation into the genealogy Web site. He also faces theft and ongoing criminal conduct charges. Police said the investigation continues, and they expect additional suspects to be charged.

Post Oak Springs is located about a mile north of modern day Rockwood. It has its place in history long before Roane was even a twinkle in someone's eye - or pocketbook. It was described in Ramsey's History, as a place where trappers and later, other travelers stopped to either camp out, or at least to get water for passengers and livestock. There are still two old Post Oak Cemeteries located there, but the original church has been replaced in more recent years. Quite early, there was also an "arbor church" erected in the area by the Methodists, but other groups used it. Rockwood was not identified by that name until 1872, when the iron smelting furnaces were built and mining became a major occupation for many - both iron and coal.
