Documenting your loved ones experiences has been very difficult, due to the fire that swept away records in 1973,perhaps I can offer some insight into that problem. My father, Allen Newby, was with the 82nd A/B during WW II, my mother Jeanne Varney served our country as a WAC in WW II.My husband, Marcus Cherry, served in the Viet Nam War, for two tours of duty, volunteering and retired an E-8 turbulent times, but our men and women served and did their duty. My cousin, Gary Newby, is on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall.My niece and nephew are currently serving overseas, somewhere, representing our family in this war, in the Air Force. I am extending an invitation to anyone who has an interest and also to any veteran from any war To please commit to our little meeting, one of which I would like to develop into monthly discussions.
