    1. [{Meigs Co., TN}] Hammon, Hammonds in Meigs Co TN...1910 Census
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HAMMON, HAMMOND, GUINN around Meigs, Roane, Rhea, McMinn Co TN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2hB.2ACI/119 Message Board Post: ....I am searching for information on a J.H. HAMMOND and wife Mary L. with 4 children (Elizabeth "Lizzie", born 1902, William, born 1905, Sarah Jane, born 1907, and Martin Luther, born 1909) who were recorded in the 1910 Meigs Co Census. ...J.H. (born about 1838) initials may stand for Jake or James (or nicknamed Jake) ....and was a farmer and did odd jobs. Census says he was married twice so Mary is his second wife and family...therefore, J.H. may have another family by his first wife. Don't know anything about J.H. first wife or marriage. If you know anything on J.H., PLEASE contact me. ...I desperately need to communicate with other Hammon, or Hammond still living in the area of TN.( Roane, Rhea, McMinn Co., Meigs etc) as J.H. was always moving from county to county as as migrate farmer. He is thought to have died in GA in 1913, 1914 timeframe. To support his family when he grew old, J.H. became a Begger and Paulper. Mary may have died around Meigs Co region between 1910 and 1914...(don't really know, but evidence indicates this...so Mary may be buried in or around Meigs Co. area or McMinn Co possibly). .... J.H. is thought to be kin to a Fred Grant Hammon (son of William H. and Mary C. Hammond of McMinn Co.) Fred is buried in Calhoun, TN. ..... Fred married Rosa Quinn, daughter of Almon Quinn, and lived in Bradley and Polk Co in later years. Fred and Rosa divorced about 1913 and Fred married Hattie Reynolds in Bradley Co. I need to trace Fred's family in hopes of learning more about J.H. so I would like to communicate with anyone in Hammon, Hammond, Guinn that may supply information on J.H. Hammond and Mary L..HAMMOND. .....Mary, (second wife) .... I desperately need her maiden name, etc or anything about her. They were thought to have married about 1898...probably in TN. Mary was much younger than J.H...born about 1872 and Mary's mother was from TN but father was from GA. J.H. was Mary's second husband. Any info on Mary or J.H. much needed and appreciated. No papertrail was left...so my only hope of any information is someone who is family member that knows about J! .H. and Mary. .....Contact me at trendsa@bellsouth.net. Any info welcomed! . Thanks.
