I have been there and registered. I THINK IT IS USELESS! the information is from many of the things we use on-line. Rootsweb, Ancestry. etc for FREE OF CHARGE. They want you to pay for what is already available for free. I am part of the Clark County, WA Genealogy mailing and they have warned us. There is a complete report on their findings. They posted it for the Clark County WA - Rootsweb list Sincerely, Carole Atchley

I copied this to my browser and removed the spaces, I got an error, then I noticed it had inserted a third / so removed that and got "Angie' Genealogy Research Database", where: "You can search through my over 31 Million Name database for free. (For a limited number of searches.)" Wheather or not there is anything there for ANY specific County is anybody's guess. But it looks to be a paid search site. McAfee.com has seen a large and growing number of systems infected with the W32/magistr.b@mm worm in Europe and South America. Currently, there is a low incidence of this worm in North America. This is a MEDIUM RISK virus that is spread via email. The messages sent by the worm contain varying subject headings, body text and attachments The body of the message is derived from the contents of the victim's computer. It may send more than one attachment and may include non-EXE or non-viral files along with an infectious .EXE file. Five minutes after the virus is activated, it attempts to send copies of itself to email addresses found in the Windows Address Book and in the Outlook Express, Netscape and Eudora mailboxes on the hard drive. The virus payload may also cause the following: 1. Erasure of CMOS/BIOS info 2. Destruction of sectors on the hard drive 3. Deletion of all .NTZ files on the machine 4. Termination of Zone Alarm firewall program 5. Creation of a system.ini (boot) shell value to run itself at startup 6. Overwrites the Win.Com/ntldr AS always...no virus or worm can be spread through rootsweb's servers but it has long been my policy to inform all subscribers on lists that I mind to inform people that possible dangers are "out there". Please be sure to update your virus protection program immediately and remember that if your program can't be updated it will not protect you from newly written virus. If you have question please send them to jreece@icx.net Thanks! Joyce G. Reece, Rootsweb Listminder for South East Tennessee, North East Tennessee, Meigs County, Tennessee. Janet, Our Thomas Day Pierce in the 1880 Benton Co, AR Census says he was 42 and he was born in NC. But on the Meigs Co. census I'm looking at it claims birth in TN. All depends on who is giving the data. Thomas's wife Phebe Edwards was born in NC and her parents. Someone claimed the same of Thomas in 1880. Possible Phebe didn't know for sure, as they had only been married a year or so. Thomas and Phebe went on to have 6 children. Thomas lost a leg in the Civil War and became a Baptist Preacher. New data leads me Meigs Co. TN where he may have married before to a Lucy Miller, before Phebe Edwards in Arkansas and before fighting in the Civil War for Confederate TN. There is a contesting widow named Lucy listed on his CW Pension file along with his widow Phebe. Pearce in the census in 1850 Meigs Co. TN. I have notice in several other Pearce/Pierce lines the name has interchanged spelling of the name in different census.
