FINALLY! For all who volunteered to help...THANK YOU! The McMinn County, Tennesseee Deed Abstracts and Other Data is NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE. It is a project that took months to complete and is a treasure trove of names, dates and places. It mentions many, many families from all over east Tennessee AND many of the Cherokee families who resided here when the county was formed. Thanks to all who volunteered, thanks to Tennessee Genealogy Web Assistant Coordinator, Cathy Hall for formating and posting it. Thanks to Reba Boyer Bayless for doing the original work and thanks, most of all, to Mr. Rex Moses, President of McMinn County Historical Society for urging us on to get the book online. http://tngenweb.org/records/mcminn Be sure to bookmark the address. Please be aware that the records could be transferred to the McMinn County Rootsweb site. If this occurs we will be sure to let you know. Keep your eyes open for the Monroe County Deed Abstracts links and data coming soon also. Ya'll ain't gonna believe these records................... Let us know what you think please! From recent maps, it appears that this town (with its rather unfortunate name!) no longer exists. Can anyone give me more information on where the town of Buttsville was, and what census district it was in? I suspect this family member may have been there in 1870 census.

Della is the wife that is buried with him in Row 3 of Rocky Springs Cemetery. Maybe Tempie Mae is buried in one of the surrounding counties. Those are the only two Queens listed in the Meigs County Cemetery Book. In a deposition by his daughter Sarah Caroline Graham-Burkhart (speaking of her father William Jacob Golden) Dated June 29, 1908 Racine MO and attached to her application #31695 to the Eastern Cherokee's, she States that her father was of Cherokee Blood. He was born in Virginia, moved to Tennessee, then to Ozark Arkansas and finally to Missouri. She also states that other relatives in tennessee were the Crow family that lived near them within Six Miles of the Tennessee River on the Decantur Road. any information regarding this family would be greatly appreciated.
