It should have been: Alice, born 3/14/1872. It does not give a death date in the Meigs Co cemetery book. Also listed under Shoemaker is: Horace, 11/5/1825-6/4/1923. Could this be the father of James H? Are there other lookups I could do in the cemetery book? I do not have 1950 records of marriages.

Her daughter was born March 1909. I know that is her mothers name because I have a birth certificate that was issued in 1960. Thanks for looking. Would you by any chance have marriage records for the 1950's. I am guessing that is when Della and Earl Queen got married. There is no record of marriage in McMinn. I think it may be Rhea or Meigs.Della was born in Rhea.

Meigs County is made up of 8 districts which pretty much remained the same. Of course, your individual could have moved from one district to another. If you want me to do a look up, email me. I have all the census 1840-1920. Helen Hewitt Bearacuda1@aol.com

Documenting your loved ones experiences has been very difficult, due to the fire that swept away records in 1973,perhaps I can offer some insight into that problem. My father, Allen Newby, was with the 82nd A/B during WW II, my mother Jeanne Varney served our country as a WAC in WW II.My husband, Marcus Cherry, served in the Viet Nam War, for two tours of duty, volunteering and retired an E-8 turbulent times, but our men and women served and did their duty. My cousin, Gary Newby, is on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall.My niece and nephew are currently serving overseas, somewhere, representing our family in this war, in the Air Force. I am extending an invitation to anyone who has an interest and also to any veteran from any war To please commit to our little meeting, one of which I would like to develop into monthly discussions. God bless you all, and our great country.

    3. Hello all. Just a note to remind everyone about computer virus, worms, trojans etc. Virus' are odd little creatures. The computer gremlins build new virus to the tune of about two per month. Each of these are different. A virus protection program that was written two weeks or two months or two years before a particular virus was written will NOT have protection against that new virus. So, in order for your computer to have virus protection that is up to date and working you must update your program online as necessary. I might suggest that online companies that offer automatic updates would be the best for folks who use the internet. Only two of those are www.mcafee.com and www.norton.com there are others. There are other, free, virus protection services on the internet where one can do online virus scans. I don't have any links for those but will invite you folks to post any links you may have.
