Hi, In some information that I have on my HILL line in McNairy Co., Tn. I found: Daniel Hill and his wife Eleanor (Nodding) came from Jefferson Co. to McNairy Co. in 1828, and settled 3 miles from Purdy on Cypress Creek. Where they lived was known as the "Hill Settlement", one of the largest at that time in the county. Living there were also Old Ben Walker, Whartons, Harwells, Joplins, Kincaids, McAlfrines, Sweats, Magill, Carters, Surratts, Adams, Barnes, Bells, Brooks, Crumps, Devautts, Dennys, Murrays, Wilsons, William Beatty, SAMUEL HOUSTON, and the Rankin families.
