Searching in McNairy Co for George REAVES/REEVES (b. ca 1818 NC or TN) who married Mary SAUNDERS (b. 1820 NC) daughter of Lemuel SAUNDERS and Millia DUNCAN. First child was born 1845 in McNairy Co; family was in Hardeman Co by 1860. Family tale is that George was a teacher, but 1860 census shows him as an overseer.
