Hi Brian, I found in my Hardin Co TN 1820 , 1830 and 1840 census books several Smiths. If you think they might be yours, let me know and I will give you the page numbers. McNairy Co. was Hardin Co until 1823, I believe...(if I'm wrong...all of you out there...I am sure you will trell metell me:-). Anyway...there is: John, Elisha, 2 Williams, Samuel and Daniel in 1820 Wm , Daniel, Allen, Agrippa, Absolom and Polly in 1830 Joel, Daniel and Jesse in 1840.
