Charlotte, I may have some information that might be helpful. The James Wilson I have was born in Guilford Co. NC in 1781. He died on May 8, 1854, in McNairy County and is buried in the Bethel Springs Cemetery with his wife, Nancy Cork, who was an indentured servant. I have Nancy's date of birth as June 6, 1798, with her date of death as Aug. 6, 1872. These two are my gggggrandparents. The only children I have for James and Nancy are 1)Robert--born 2/4/1815 and married to Priscilla Pearson; 2) Benitha, who married John Helbert; 3)John; 4) Caroline, who married Neal Gilchrist; 5) Calvin, who married Betsy Pearson first and Lucy Whitten second; 6) Milton, who married Delphia Stanley, and 7) Laura, who married Tom Pearson. I have more detailed information on each of these children and their descendants and would be glad to help with more, if needed. The big question most Wilsons doing research want to know is the one you asked: Who was James' (b. 1781) father? This is where the trail has gone dead. Hope this helps!
